2011 Event ReportsAfter an event we had in DeSoto, TX the youth pastor said it was the best event they had all summer. The report was that the kids were so pumped about it and telling their parents everything that happened, that the parents were shocked. The alter call was absolutely powerful. My wife played the keyboard and sang while we spoke about repentance and living committed to the Lord. As teenagers knelt in worship and prayer, I was impacted by God's presence. We had a really neat opportunity to perform a demo for a memorial/charity event for a motorcycle enthusiasts that lost his life in a bike accident, leaving behind a wife and kids. It was a secular event, but we were able to share a testimony, and pray over the whole group. It was touching...powerful. Light in the darkness. In the midst of the families grief, God's love poured into hurting hearts. When I partnered with Zero Gravity a few times this year, there was some great testimonies from people that came to the city outreach that might not have stepped into a church otherwise. Through the message of the cross, people turned back to Christ and experienced a transformation from drug addiction and sexual sin to devotion to the Lord.
Plunge PartyTrinity Church in Cedar Hill invited us to perform some pre-event entertainment for their monthly baptism celebration. Although the time slot was very accelerated, the show was a success with only one minor crash and Mike was able to debut his unicycle stunt bike which turned out to be a crowd favorite. Check out this fun recap clip!
Falls Creek, OK4-29-2011 We had the privilege of attending the Men's Rewired retreat in Fall's Creek, Oklahoma hosted by the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma. It was such a empowering experience with other men of God. Our function at this event was to provide some pre-event entertainment and share our testimonies on Friday afternoon. We were able to put on another show Saturday and really go big! It was awesome to hear Pastor Michael Cass bring the Word of God, then get to see the new movie titled "Courageous". I really enjoyed hanging out with Justin Mize, Ronald Punch, Seth Thorpe and the men at Rewired. Thanks again to Keith Burkhart and Hunter Wellman for the opportunity! The Gorilla RollThis trick has been really difficult to master. Check out this funny clip of me crashing trying.
Now here is another clip filmed and edited by Nick of zero gravity. Includes some speaking we did at an outreach :)
College Station, TX11-9-2010 This past weekend, we were honored to attend the 5th quarter after party in College Station/Bryan, TX. This was a youth outreach event hosted by Nathan and Kyndal Green of Covenant Family church. The show went very well considering the slickness of the riding surface. Our prayer is that many youth in attendance were impacted for the Kingdom of God through our witness. Nathan and Kyndal gave us a warm welcome and were truly a delight to hang out with this weekend. Hopefully we can make it down their way again soon! Iron River, MI7-24-2010 This weekend was so wonderful! Tim Wilkinson with Zero Gravity Outreach organized an event in Iron River, Michigan (in the U.P.). I flew up there and Robbie hauled his bike and mine from Dallas all the way there. We held the outreach event at First Baptist Church of Iron River. The church was very gracious in letting us stay at there facility for the weekend. Saturday morning was the day of the event and we woke up to heavy rain. This was a little discouraging, but we asked our great God to open up the skies, dry out the performing area and bring the people from the community. Our God is always faithful...He is so amazing! We had somewhere between 800 and 1000 people come to the event! Scott Murray and his teammates from sickairfmx.com brought their metal landing, ramp and bikes and joined Tim and Robbie in handling the FMX portion of the show. After the second show, Mike shared his testimony and presented the gospel (to see it go here: http://www.zerogravityoutreach.com/mikeking/ ) For pictures go here! After the second testimony, Darron overshot the dirt landing and dislocated his shoulder. We are praying for a full recovery. Overall the event was a success despite the numerous obstacles that we had to overcome. Praise God for all that He has done and continues to do!!!
Fort Worth, TX7-12-2010 The show at Bloody Knuckles Motorcycle Institute was pretty awesome. I had a mixture of scary long stoppies (headbutting kelvin) and circle wheelies around a couple volunteers. The whole event was for tough-guy harley riders. (I even had a guy harass me for not knowing what SYLB stood for..."Support Your Local Bandito")Everybody was getting drunk and acting the part. It was probably the darkest spiritual place I've done an event at. Towards the end of the show, I crashed into a pole doing a special k circle and crushed my fairing pretty bad. Then when I landed my front flip dismount I dislocated my toe. In that moment of calamity, I grabbed the microphone and told the crowd how everything I do is for the Lord Jesus Christ who offered himself as a "ransom for many" that we might have eternal life. The crowd of crazy drunk people cheered and then dozens of people helped me and Val load the truck. It was a very memorable experience and I was happy to get to ride at my friend's (Kelvin) shop. We ended up lost trying to find the hospital so we went home, put the little one to bed and then when Val walked out of the room I grabbed that crooked toe and snapped it back into place! This morning we went to the ER to have x-rays done and they said it wasn't broken. Praise God for that! I hope that someone was awakened to the hope that we have in Christ Jesus. signing off until next time... Youth Retreat in Houston, TX3-23-3010 So much to say, so much to say! There have been several events that have kept me pretty busy. Just two days after Christmas, my wife and I traveled down to Houston to put on a show for the Iglesia Bautista Libertadad youth winter retreat. It was so awesome! The church was very gracious and let us put on a show for 300+ screaming high school students. My buddy, Jordo, from Houston also rode and helped run the microphone. I have heard from the staff that the winter retreat was a huge success and that by the end of the weekend, many young people had committed their lives to Christ. Second, I had the blessed opportunity to put on a show for Highpointe Baptist Church in Cedar Hill. This church is very near and dear to me personally. It was the church that my wife's family have been a part of for fifteen years. Their head pastor happened to be the minister at our wedding. Anywho, Val did an awesome job on the microphone and I had a blast riding. The audience seemed to get pretty excited. I love sharing the love of Christ with young people!!! Just a few days after this show, myself and Jordo headed down to Daytona Beach, Florida for the first round of the XDL competition. It was alot of fun although I had a bad crash at the beginning of my run which really threw off my chances. Then, last weekend, we traveled to San Antonio for the south texas competition. The battle was fierce but we had a great time. The highlight would probably be when I shared with the crowd how God changed my life and now I live every day devoted to my Lord Jesus Christ. They cheered and I really believe it touched the heart of some of them. 12-02-2009 Check out our new blogs!! http://kingdomstunters.wordpress.com/ Oak Cliff, TX10-26-2009 This past weekend the Lord opened another door for us to share the gospel. We were invited by Faith Temple Church in Oak Cliff, TX to do a show at their picnic. It was a really awesome time because our families were able to come out and there was plenty of stuff for the kids to do, not to mention the incredible joy the Lord gives us when we perform stunts for Christ and then give him the glory. Everything from face painting to a remote controlled deputy puppet provided by the Dallas Police Department. The Careflight helicopter even landed on the grounds and the pilots got out to take pictures with people and let the kids get up close to the aircraft. I want to thank Ron for rockin' the microphone, Marc for helping with setup and setting out the cans, Jason for helping with setup and Kelvin for getting our foots in the door. You guys are great! The show went really well. The street was closed off perfect for stoppies. Until the end of the show when I bailed and landed on my back pretty hard. Mike was able to share his testimony and the gospel of Jesus Christ. It was really awesome! "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all...Yet it was the Lord's will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days...by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities....For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors." Isaiah 53:5-6,10,11,12 Limerick, PA10-1-2009 What do you call jetlag in a truck? I don't know either, but Ron and I just spent the past 27 hours driving back from Limerick, Pennsylvania. We were so blessed and fortunate to be able to put on a show for Northpointe Community Church. I would like to thank Pat and Jeana for letting us crash at their house and for providing all our meals. We felt like part of the family! Also, I want to thank Pastor Randy, Kristen Sigourney, Dan O'Connor for filming, Don for helping turn wrenches and everyone else in the Northpointe family. This was a great event and the Lord answered our prayers by stopping the rain and opening up the sky which dried the performance area. We were really stoked to see several hundred people come out for this outreach event. Also, Derek Duell from Corning, NY made it out with his family to help with the show. He did awesome rocking stunts on his KTM 450 motard, four-wheeler and xr50. Midway through the show, Derek's grandma even jumped on the seven man fourwheeler and stunned the crowd. It was a great time and I believe that God is at work in many people's lives as a result of this event. Thanks again to everyone involved! Stunt show in Limerick, PA 9/27/2009
Ovilla, TX9-24-2009 Yo! Just wanted to throw up another update for you guys. This past week Ron and I (Crazy Mike) were able to put on a show in the south Dallas area at the Grace Church of Ovilla. A big thanks goes out to Marilyn, D.J., Larry, Alice and the rest of the GCO staff for hosting this event. They actually organized it for five different church youth groups in the area to come out on wednesday night. It was a super huge turnout (300+ young people). There was a really great band there and catering by Cici's pizza. Ron rocked the microphone hardcore during the show and shared his testimony. I had a blast riding in front of everybody (although my radiator sprung a leak and started overheating and spewing hot coolant all over me...and then my foot brake came loose after a 180 stoppie). I think everyone enjoyed the show and I was able to share my testimony too! The whole staff was very supportive and gracious even though we went over on our time slot. Thanks again to everyone involved!!! Praise God! Grace Church of Ovilla 9/23/2009
News Feed7-06-2009 Hey everybody! Alot of stuff has been brewing in the Kingdom Stunters camp and I figured it was time to add a "News Feed" section to keep you updated. Back in December, Ron and I came into contact with members from a Christian youth outreach known as Zero Gravity Action Sports Outreach. This is a super unique outlet that God has put on the hearts of some very talented riders. The team has a mixture of professional level FMX riders, supermotard stunters and four-wheeler stunters. They all have a passion for sharing the gospel message of Jesus Christ. This team of believers has been putting on shows and sharing their testimonies for years. So, back in December, Ron and I teamed up with them since we share the same goal. Because the team members are spread out throughout the country (with members in Michigan, Ohio and Texas), we keep in touch weekly through conference call Bible studies. Additionally, one of the riders from Amarillo, TX (Justin Mize) has made two trips to Dallas to ride and fellowship with us. We've had an awesome time with this guy. On his last trip down, we had the opportunity to pray for a homeless guy in downtown Dallas! Then we spent the next day practicing in the rain! Praise God that we are all one Body with one purpose, to bring worship and honor before His throne! Tim Wilkinson, one of the other members of Zero Gravity, has been editing a promotional clip for the team...this clip is hott!!! Check it out...Zero Gravity Outreach Promo
